Follow Post Punk / New Wave Music? New album (1st in 40 years) by....

The Vapors

I thought they were a great band back in 1980 when I was 'of an age'. Similar sound to the Jam in some respects (think they had same management for a while) but they wrote some very good songs. 'Turning Japanese' was the big hit and they were unlucky after that as follow up singles 'News at Ten' and 'Jimmie Jones' were affected by BBC strikes when Top of the Pops was off air. However, their standout track from the heady days of 1980 in my view was 'Letter from Hiro'. YouTube it if you can.

Anyway, they are back together again (still unlucky as now it is Coronavirus stopping them touring) and have a new album. It probably does lack a little bit of the edge compared to stuff from forty years back but still some great tracks, especially one entitled 'Crazy'.

Anyway if you are a fan of music of that genre and from that time just thought I would let you know.
