Games kicks off
City look really sharp pinging the ball around. Southampton can’t get a look.
About 20 mins in its all us, a few great chances spurned or saved really well by the keeper.
On 21 mins Klose has to chase a long ball back and tweaks something. He plays on for 5 mins but isn’t right and hobbles off.
Tettey drops into the back four.
We continue to play really well, but can’t convert.
On 45+1 mins Southampton win their first corner and one of their hulking great centre halfs smashes in a header after jumping through Cantwell like he’s made of wet paper.
Second half we huff and puff, but they shut up shop and we barely get a sniff. Two late goals complete a 0-3 defeat in a game where we were clearly the best team and dominated for 75% of the match.
Or something like that.
