Readings transfer policy following promotion

I see from the BBC football website that Reading have put in bids totally ?4m for Lescott from Wolves and McSheffry from Coventry. I wish that our manager had followed such a policy of cherry picking the best young championship playes when we got promotion. In fact " I wish" should be his middle names as I wish that there are many things that he had done differently in terms of transfers, tactics, his resignation etc since May 2004 when we were promoted.
