An alternative way forwards for this and next season...

Should probably repost this as a new thread...

Just wanted to throw an idea out there... see what the consensus is? So, there’s all this talk of EFL 1 & 2 scrapping their seasons next week, and already teams are threatening legal action etc. So there needs to be a solution across all the professional leagues.

All the talk is of neutral venues for the foreseeable, so why don’t we forget next season in its current format, concentrate on finishing this season at neutral venues if needs be... not ideal but at least all the games get played at some point. Then as there’s inevitably going to be more stop start action disrupting next season with further lockdown periods to come, have a shorter season of half the games, all played at neutral venues, so no need to play home and away. That way we finish this season, and fit a shortened next season in, then hopefully get a vaccine and enjoy the Euros. Everyone happy?

Less games, but all televised, less risk to health and less strain on NHS and police. I personally think it should all be scrapped on health grounds alone but it’s clear there’s too much at stake here for many teams so there has to be a fair solution for all.
