NK is one of those places where there is no "good person" to take over (c.f. Syria, Saudi, etc). The best we can hope for is a reasonable relationship with whichever horror is in post. We have a working relationship with KJU and his death would mean a power vaccum with no obvious/socially-acceptable-in-local-terms succession. They're bellicose. And nuked up. So the very best outcome we can hope for is the same as with the current person. Any other outcome will be worse. Civil war and a massive refugee problem won't be the half of it.
So far be it from me to wish an obvious despot with plenty of blood on his hands well. But I rather hope he's still there, though for no good reason.
