The argument forWorthless going now is unanswerable.

On the basis that we have to pay him off now or in the summer surely we should pay him off now and rely upon an internal caretaker appointment. Frankly the caretaker appointment is irrelevant - whether that be Williams ,Foley or Livermore. The season is over. The remaining games should be an opportunity to blood a couple of youngsters and under a new leader see whether our underperforming stars (we are the most expensively assembled team in the Championship) can play better under a hoperfully new style of play ( eg playing Hughes at right back where he palyed a whole season for Reading and in that year got 3rd I believe in the fans player of the season vote) .
This will also give the Board time to find a new manager for next season which with the final year of the parachute payment is probably going to be a pivotal season for the club.
