Which yes is a big jump.

That said, both yesterday and the previous Monday the figures were lower than expected with the following Tuesday seeing a spike. Could this be indicative of less administrative staff working at weekends which means that the relevant paperwork/contacting of the families etc is not being completed until people are back at work on Monday? If so then perhaps best to look at the figures over 2-3 days for trends rather than individual days.

More encouraging (and possibly (fingers crossed) more linked at this stage to social distancing measures) is that the number of confirmed positive cases increased by less than 15% for the 3rd day in succession). That "curve" is certainly starting to flatten a little.
