That's a crap argument.

How many young players have looked great in the Fizzy for a season but turned out to be crap? Look at Jerome - no-one wanted to take the risk, in the end. It's ALWAYS a risk buying an unproven player. Worthy was the only manager with the balls to splash a LOT of cash on Deano - and it paid off.

Hux - was wdiely perceived as a nearly-man whose defensive weaknesses would unbalance any team. Keegan didn't want to play him and Worthy rescued him.

Two excellent signings but both were gambles
