I've never failed an interview but always, the hardest thing is to get that far. The last job i wasn't head-hunted for I rang up the Divisional Director on the phone, and sweet-talked my way past his Rottweiler - i befriended him on the phone, empathised that he must get this a lot but that if he gave me an interview he'd give me the job - he laughed and asked me to give his Rottweiler my address. I did and got the interview, got the job and used that as a stepping-stone for my career. Eloquent, fun, amusing, professional - but not cocky, lewd or uneducated - remember that these people have many nerds working for them who work well but bore the tits off him. Unless he's one of them of course, but part of the game is to judge in just a few sentences exactly what kind of guy he is - it's a talent that is important to learn.
