My thoughts on Old Trafford

Forget about the football! I was excited about going to Old Trafford,I don't mind saying, to see the place as well as seeing us. I'd walked past a few times, I'm familiar with the area and I know it was probably right in the thick of it with factories and warehouses in the past but it's a bit of a no-man's land now. I thought there'd be more in the environs of the ground itself, where we went in there was only the merchandise store and a statue of Best,Charlton and Law. There must be more "stuff" elsewhere, thought it was a bit lowkey.
I appreciate new fandago stadia as well as old, evolved ones as well. I didn't half feel as if they wanted as many bums on seats in this place, some right up in the gods. Luckily the away corner is still lowrise and a pretty good view. Catering areas in the away concourse is poor, very old fashioned and cramped. The lad on the Cash Only till was about to pocket my tenner until I asked for the receipt.
Disabled facilities were excellent, loads of room.
No big TV screen and absolutely crap scoreboards, I mean pathetic.
I was really disappointed with the lack of atmosphere, I thought it was very quiet, I must admit I think we found it hard to get it going as well although I believe we sounded good on telly. Home support didn't really get going until 3-0.
There were a lot of tourists, I get that, I don't mind it, much as we would all like to go to match in Barcelona if we were there, however it really must help kill the atmosphere and I'm glad I don't support a team with that sort of following.
Beginning to recognise a few away faces these days, there's a skinny long haired ginger lad with a goatie who always seems to be jumping up and down and singing, good on him.
Looking forward to Spuds now, don't know why they just don't call it White Hart Lane.
