if he's in the shop window he's going to be trying more than if he's just here marking time. Even though we're going down, *how* we go down will be important:

Down with a whimper - the poor form will probably continue into next season, our younger players won't learn much from constant drubbings.

Get some good results/performances instead - builds momentum for next season, gives the younger a better environment in which to develop, and enhances/preserves the value of those that we'll be selling.
