We have players in and around the team who have captained well at county level

List of potential captains...

Buttler, burns, woakes, moeen

All have shown more astute nous than Root, who needs to get back to his batting.

The lack of a potential replacement is down to massive mismanagement from the current management team as they've persisted with rubbish batsmen and scapegoated a string of good all rounders which was our main strength.

(how have we managed to break Bairstow, Woakes, Buttler, Moeen - even Stokes, whose batting is fine but has now dropped off with his fitness and bowling? )

I'm hugely sympathetic to Webber and Farke in how they've managed our football team.

The management of the England cricket squad has gone from being lopsided (focused entirely on the world Cup... Hooray.) to now pretty incompetent.
