100% Tottenham Goal Would Have Stood
Fuck conspiracys. It would. The VAR officials wouldn't have wanted a furious Mourinho calling them out in the national media and let it stand. What pisses me off is that no-one from the Tottenham side or bench appealed. Shouldn't the system be in place for the teams, not the officials sat there feeling underemployed?
Decision should also be refs to make. Else what is the point of them being in charge? Never mind 'referees assistants', we now have the ref as the 'VAR assistant'. I rather think if Friend watched the replay on the screen, he'd have confirmed the goal was good.
You could play back a lot of goals that have been given this season and find a reason to disallow many of them. VAR in its current form is an epic f**k up for the game and fans. But it makes great TV. Bet Sky, BT and Amazon love it, last night included.
