A somebody who has tried to remain ever optimistic...
last night was a slap in the face. I hoped that with two centre-halves our defending would be more reliable but last night was horrendous. Godfrey had the worst game I've seen him play and Aarons still hasn't got back to his best. I think the hype around these two has taken its toll. But what frightened me most about last night was the lack of a leader beyond Krul. Nobody to put their foot in, try and dominate the game or at least let Soton know we were up for it. It looked like men against boys most of the game and that's happened a few times this season. In the end probably should've got a point but quite frankly we didn't deserve it. We need a Holt or some sort of outfield leader to try and take a game to the opposition because it must be clear to every team in the PL that all they have to do is to get at us and we'll fall apart. Man City and Arsenal gave us time and space but the others have realised that its so easy to stop us. Love Farke, love the style of football and if we get relegated and people start asking for his removal then they are plain stupid however, he has to come up with a solution to the pathetic set-piece defending and a style that allows us to compete when a team gets in our faces.

- Agreed I think it may be time to rest Aaron’s and try Byram there and bring back Lewis (n/m) (NCFC) - Mackem Canary, Dec 5, 19:51:38
