Random thoughts on yesterday

I make no claim to be an expert nor am i expecting anything much from our current position which is caused as much by fate rather than anything else but:

Why do we bring Pukki (or Emi) back for Corners, with both of them being marked men for opposition sides sides like Brighton will probably leave two upfield to mark either of them which would then give us a numerical advantage in defending corners (I'm not saying we would be any better but at present we are inviting the opposition to pack the penalty box).

I can appreciate that after making tactical changes early last week we didnt want the same number of walking wounded at the end of the game but why do we still leave it too late and also make the change when defending a corner?

Having watched the subs training at half time it was clear that Todd Cantwell didnt want to be on the pitch in any way which made bringing him a strange decision.

We need to learn that in modern bowl stadia when a ball looks like its going out it isnt until it crosses the line especially on windy days. Several times we gave up on a ball that looked like it was going out when the wind kept it in play.

Emi needs some lessons from Wes - he needs to learn that he has the skill to jump over the heavy challenge and run off with the ball - the freekicks he got last season won't come because its a better quality of cheats that he is facing.

Overall the key part is that in this league your subs have to be part of plan A rather than plan B which is where we have a problem, you need a starting 11 plus 2 that you have a plan to bring on At the moment we dont have that luxury, our subs are just the remaining fit members of the squad!
