Cant see a practicable alternative though
Current parliament wont pass a referendum, revoke is off the table now there's a deal. Johnson has the numbers to pass his deal if he can get it to a straight up vote (and all that would take is for the EU to say no more extensions).
The only realistic option is to roll the dice on a GE, and now is as good a time as any. Hope to take enough seats off labour and Tories such that if there's a hung parliament you hold more power (or that Johnson gets enough of a cushion such that he is not as beholden to ERG/DUP).
The battleground to focus on isnt the exit deal now, it's what happens next and the future relationship and getting as soft a landing as possible.
Johnson doesnt really give a s**t about Brexit so once his deal passes, its anyone's guess as to what happens next. He will want an easy life so if you can change the dynamic in parliament and sideline the ERG and their hard brexit fantasies, that might be the best outcome.
It's a high risk gamble but cant see what else they can do if we are to get out of this deadlock (at some point the EU will force the issue so delay after delay isnt a long term option).
I've got to spend my morning convincing a US manufacturer that the UK is still a sensible place to invest and create jobs. Further Brexit delays are not good for business confidence.
