Press news in....

We are in position at the Lotus Training Centre for Daniel Farke's pre-Aston Villa press conference. Updates to come shortly....

-----------------------------------------------------------------

DF: None of the injured players are coming back for this game.

DF: Ralf Fahrmann is not capapble to play with a groin injury.

DF: Tim Krul is also not able to play, so Michael McGovern will start tomorrow. Grant Hanley is out with a groin injury.

DF: Sam Byram is struggling a bit with his ankle, which is why we didn't start him at Crystal Palace. He will be with us tomorrow in the squad.

DF: There's a question mark on Todd Cantwell's hamstring. It looked alright today but we hope to have him available for tomorrow.

DF: Jamal Lewis will be with us and has a good chance to play tomorrow. Just ligament damage, nothing broken.

DF: We have to accept what we can't change. Each club goes through difficult spells. In my 11 years as a manager I've never experienced a crisis like this.

DF: We ask ourselves what we can do differently to avoid injuries, but most of the time we can't influence them. It's interesting to fight against all odds and setbacks and to win points in such situations.

DF: We enjoy to play at home in front of an excited crowd, so the injuries don't change that we want to play football. We have to stick together and show great commitment and desire.

DF: It's Michael's first league appearance in nearly three years but he's so professional. We totally trust him.

DF: Each and every game is important. We have to fight for points to achieve our targets. We know we have a difficult situation but we want to be successful. If we draw, we are still one point ahead.

DF: If we're four points away from Villa we won't open the champagne and dance on the table.

DF: I feel really blessed and honoured to have this extraordinary role for this amazing club. I don't take it as a given. I'm unbelievably thankful for the trust of all the key people.

DF: We're trying to build something really special. We've achieved so much over the last 24 months and hopefully we can go on with our supporters.

DF: Life is so quick in the Premier League. After the Man City game it felt like we won the title, then two games later we had many injured players and lost the games. Carrow Road has been a fortress so far.

DF: We played Newcastle out the park. We can trust our supporters because we need them sticking together and coming in a good mood to cheer us up.

DF: If we create the same spirit and togetherness at Carrow Road we can achieve another big surprise. We'll be resilient tomorrow.

DF: Strikers can't score a hat-trick in every game. I've been pleased with Teemu's recent performances. It's just a question of time until he scores again. It's not a big crisis.

DF: Ben Godfrey will need surgery during the international break. He's been struggling since the last break, but we didn't speak about it because we had so many injured players.

DF: We have no other centre-backs at the moment so I'm thankful he's been willing to play. He's a tough guy and is available for tomorrow, then he'll have surgery on Monday or Tuesday.

DF: It's a joy to work in this dressing room every day. So many people are writing them off, but there's such self-confidence. It's a joy to work with them. You can't allow yourself to be too down.

DF: Dean Smith is spot on. We haven't played 'this' Villa side yet. We won both games last season, but he's totally right. They spent an unbelievable amount of money in the summer and have many changes.

DF: You can't compare Villa with the other promoted teams. The potential of the club is to be a giant one day in England and Europe. Fingers crossed for Dean he is able to lift all this potential.

DF: They haven't faced this Norwich side yet. Last season, it was Zimmermann, Klose and Hanley all available, as was Vrancic. You could say Villa hasn't faced this Norwich City yet!

DF: There are many reasons why Villa are favourites, but you shouldn't underestimate the spirit and resilience of my players or of Carrow Road.

DF: Godfrey's surgery is a question of days rather than weeks, so he should be available for the Bournemouth game after the international break.

DF: Archie Mair has a good chance to be involved in the squad. He's a good guy who's confident. You have to be like that as a goalkeeper. It's difficult for a young lad but he's a good all-round 'keeper.

DF: Onel Hernandez isn't too far away from returning to training, hopefully before the Bournemouth game. That would be a big boost for us so we have to see how that develops.

DF: Of course we miss Onel's bravery and capabilities. He was the best goalscorer on the wings for us in the last season. It's like if Liverpool played without Mane.

DF: But we're not searching for excuses. We have to find solutions. Onel will need time to get back up to his best performance level.

DF: Patrick Roberts has stepped up a lot in the last few weeks. He got 15 minutes against Palace and looked pretty sharp.

DF: The last game against Crystal Palace was one of Stiepermann's best games this season, but players in his position get judged on goals and assists, so he needs to step up a bit in terms of that.

DF: John McGinn isn't the only threat. Jack Grealish is a great player too, so it's important that we control their midfield.

DF: I always appreciated the work Dean had done at Brentford and Villa. I like their approach. They were a posession-based side in the Championship, so it's not easy to bring that up to the Premier League.

DF: It's a great honour for Max and Todd to be called up to the England youth game. Ben wore the armband in the last game. We will try to develop them further.

DF: We ask ourselves what we could do in training to avoid injuries. No team has fewer muscle injuries than us. Some of ours are from nasty tackles or accidents in private lives.

DF: If John McGinn had played against us last season I don't think it would have won them the title. He's a good player, but I always trust my lads. We try to be competitive, even if we were playing against Messi or Ronaldo.

DF: There's always a slight change when different types of players come in. Michael has a different style to Tim so we have to adapt to this, but he's been working with us so long that we all trust him.

DF: Villa's financial potential was shown in the summer. We know when you use money you have a bigger chance of using quality and staying in this league. That's why you can't compare them with us or Sheffield United.

DF: There is a sufficiency in the world for man's neediness but not for our greediness.

That's all from the boss this afternoon. We'll have plenty more pre-match build-up on canaries.co.uk prior to kick-off.
