Open to debate whether it was "accidental" but

the effect of the Kinnock amendment as I understand it was to require an attempt to renegotiate with the EU a deal based on May's deal but with certain other tweaks agreed during the cross party talks that were briefly held. Whether it technically requires an extension first I don't know but the general view being taken at the time was that it allowed/required the government to put that deal back before the Commons at some point.

At the time my view was that the failure to post tellers on the doors was not an accident.
