Odd. It’s a challenge to the opposition, and I’ve seen countless
interviews where opponents have said it motivates them as much as it does the ABs.
(As an aside, historically it was performed originally away from home, but not so often at home. So would be odd to reverse that.)
Anyway, I think the key point is that it’s a really special part of international rugby, and one of the things that fans all over the world look forward to. Don’t think anyone would want it to be lost.
