It annoyed me. "Isolated, culturally unfashionable city".
They'd obviously not researched the city's 'rise' recently for all sorts of reasons - arts festival, music scene, restaurant scene, appearance in so many of those 'Top Ten Places...' lists.
I found it all a bit 'glib'.
