Yeah, the lack of pace is a huge problem

If the full backs are pinned back we have no real blistering pace. Even Pukki’s running is more down to timing than being a total speed merchant. It means we can’t quickly break from deep with a ball pinged down the channel or even over the shoulder of a forward player, as most prem defenders are quick and can recover against our forwards, unless we’re already close to their goal.

I thought Steipermann could be a good long ball number ten type option in the way Fellaini was for Everton years ago, but he just doesn’t seem strong enough generally at this level.
