Has been playing well, played well on Friday, didn't 'hold us to ransom' over a new contract and is one of our own.

Regardless of whether you like him or not, there are better ways of expressing your discontent with a players performance-and might be a good idea for them to have actually had bad game (which no player does intentionally) before you do.
