Range and indoor penetration depends on the spectrum. Most likely there will be

multiple spectrums in use. Well there are already for 4g and 3G but 5G can go up to a far higher frequency. The higher the frequency the shorter the range and lower the penetration.

I’d expect to see 4g continuing to be used for indoor coverage, remote areas, tunnels etc much in the way 3G was used for voice even when 4g was rolled out for the data side.
