So where I feel VAR falls down, yet is stronger than other sports, is that they can VAR

it and then change the decision based on something nobody saw. In most sports the video judging has to be predefined. So they suspect something which they ask to be checked but that’s all they check. Not sure if that’s a strength or weakness. On the one hand in American football they can do a video check on the call crossing the goal line but if during the check they see a pass interference penalty they can’t call it. It’s purely a check on what the officials asked about. In football they can do a VAR on whether there was a handball and then end up ruling it out for a foul on half way and issue a red card.

It’s clearly more just but very confusing for the fan.
