Gloucester Whittle E28/39 (I had to look up the numbers, I’m not that bad). It is splitting hairs really, the Meteor was the first operational British jet and I’ve now discovered that the Italians also had a plane on the go which I'd never heard of called the Caproni, so thanks for that.I knew of the German Heinkel and of course if the Nazis had actually further developed the me262 the war could’ve turned out a lot different.
