Marc Bircham
God knows if the story is true but I don't think he's a bad player, although I must confess I don't know an awful lot about him except for 3 things?
1) He was similar to Millwall's other "stars" (Andy Reid, Tim Cahill, Richard Sadlier) who at the time were tipped for greater things. Surprisingly to a lot od people, when Bircham was out of contract, instead of joing a bigger club than Millwall he opted to drop to Div 2 to QPr, which was the club he had always supported as he wanted to play for them so much (he moved summer 2002)
2) I'm not sure, but I sem to recall us being linked to him when he signed for QPR back in 2002.
3) Remember Darel Russell being sent off for a "flying elbow" against Millwall in early 2002 (Play Off Final season)? We ground out a 0-0 and Paul Crichton looked decidedly shaky! Well it was Bircham who Russell allegedly struck, which was later to prove wrong as nothing really happened as Bircham crashed to the floor like a sack of spuds, clenching his face!
