The probelm is (and I say this as someone whose polictical leaning is more Tory than
labour) that for the people who will ultimately cast the votes in this leadership contest his role in the Brexit campaign is a plus rather than a minus.
The real battleground here is whether the Tory MP's can keep him out of the final 2 because if it goes to the membership vote he will probably win as inexplicably he remains very popular with the party membership despite it being abundantly clear and obvious that this man is not suited to being prime minister.
Question is whether someone can take him out in the earlier stages of the contest which I suppose could happen if the hard right vote is split due to there being several brexiteer candidates.
