Stringer had the benefit of a developed youth system (Gordon, Rosario, Sutton) and he inherited players like Gunn, Bowen, Culverhouse, Crook, Phelan, Butterworth & Putney.
Yes he signed Fleck, Townsend & Linighan, but he also signed Dean Colney AND Darren Beckford.
Let's not get too moist over his legacy just because we are hacked off with NW.
