He was banned for a couple of reasons

1/ Wrote a story about Ryan Harley of Exeter City, who was linked with Norwich, a potential replacement for Wes

2/ Wrote a story about the then owner of Tranmere who put the club for sale on ebay linking him as a potential suitor for Norwich

Around the time of the ban I was at a club function which was attended by both Stephan Phillips who was then an Archant MD and David McNally. I had met Stephan at an event a couple of months earlier and found him a decent guy and very approachable so I let him know what I thought of the matter. He was ever the diplomat when I asked him his views. I also mentioned this to McNally who defended his position as it was his decision

But soon after MB was off the naughty step and back in the fold. No idea if my protestations had anything to do with his reinstatement (unlikely!!) but at least had I stated my views to McNally .
