At graduate school severel of the guys did analysis of fish in local streams and lakes. Lots of toxins and pharmacuticals. One of the biggest problems in our state was the house insulation contamination. Houses by major lakes would contaminate the water when the rainwater would wash through the house insulation. Mostly halide compounds that can be nasty if consumed in large amounts.
