I think you might have to redraw it mate...
if it was done as a jpeg then it's just a load of pixels that can't be altered. Where's with an EPS file it's a series of pixels on curves and bends that allows you to alter the image. If it's a simple image then I would retrace...and if you can't do it, send it to me and I'll have a look at it:
