But you might find parallels between your experience and Maynard James Keenan, lead singer with Tool, A Perfect Circle and others.

His mother was a devout Christian who suffered cerebral aneurysm when he was 11, and then lived for a further 27 years paralyzed and in a wheel chair. A number of his songs are about his feelings about this, such as Judith by A Perfect Circle, in which he expressed his anger, and Wings for Marie/10,000 days by Tool.

I found most of the music Maynard produces (Tool in particular) hits all my buttons. Deep, meaningful, spiritual (not religious) and heavy as a tonne of lead! Give em a listen if you think that might be your kind of thing.
