"Writing in red ink is very very rude"

Is it?

I've just submitted some site visit documentation to our QA dept. which I'd scribbled out in red pen, since that was the only pen I had. Got a most stern dressing down for my efforts. "Writing in red pen is very rude, isn't it Jenny, tell him it's rude to write in red pen".

Apparently the documentation being five months late and thereby missing our last QA audit wasn't a problem at all, but the colour of the pen was paramount.

I'd like to add that it's PC Gone Mad. Either that or a sad inditement of our current Nanny State. One of them.
