Chris Wilder is definitely not Carol Vorderman...
Radio Norfolk played an interview with him during our half time where he boldly claimed that their win had secured them the play-offs to the bemusement of the local journos. He then repeated this claim to Colin Murray in their 27 minute Yorkshire love-in. And all this in one of the tightest divisions ever to seethe it's way through the messageboards of all England, where with just eight games to go, mathematically speaking Forest in 11th can still finish top.
Though with the gap to 6th & 7th currently 21 points, it could then be secured with the final game of the month following the Int break leaving just 21 available (and hopefully more points acquired that day for us).
Btw, I notice Boro play their game in hand at home to Bristol the Tuesday evening following our Saturday evening game at theirs, so a quick turnaround that could affect their game management, hopefully in our favour - though there's no travelling involved to complicate matters for them.
It (Wilder's wild claims) inspired me to see how that pans out down below:
with the 24 on offer, Ips**t could literally double their current tally(!) putting them as high as 15th, though within one game weekend that can quickly reduce to 18th/19th (if QPR get points).
I like this long run of draws, just enough to stoke the flickering flames of hope/make it sting that bit more that they were only x,y & z in any number of games away from accruing enough points to close the gap and avoid L1 altogether.
They're doing a good job of maintaining a slowly sinking ship gap, which currently writes off the last four games and by the time they get to it, 13 might've stretched to 15, making that five dead rubbers.
So that then sets up a midweek relegation party where they play Brentford away whilst we play Reading at home both on the Wednesday, live on Sky so the whole footballing world can hear 90 minutes of Yellow Submarine.
Clare got us tickets for this game Friday morning as soon as they went on general sale, so it could be a specially fun evening.
And the Capital Canaries can fill the Old Red Lion and invade the home end of Griffin Park and all four of it's famous corner pubs.
That would make for a perfect evening's football bantz...
