A man who walked away at just the right time, ensuring that a new regime was able to build on his foundations and lead NCFC to their greatest ever achievements.

All hail Dave Stringer. No punching the air like a demented c*nt when he scraped a home victory against a clueless bunch of mid-table no-hopers.

He was intelligent enough and worldly enough to understand his place in the grand scheme of NCFC - he wasn't a manager who cared only for his own backside.

A good man. A Norwich man.
