Should we be able to opt-out of the Cups ?
Because we, and lots of others seem just to enter them as a matter of duty, like going to church for a funeral. And a funeral it usually is, given home defeats to Cheltenham (0-3), MK Dons (0-4), Luton (0-1) and now Pompey (0-1). I know it should a chance to chuck in fringe players, but if we aren't gonna compete properly, I just leave the ground feeling betrayed ( and wanting my £10 back).
A chance to get in Europe ? yes, but you have to actually WIN the cup - and realistically, what chance of that ? Compared to the risk of getting extra injuries and suspensions along the way.
A chance for extra revenue ? Not really, with a ground half full paying £10 a go. Possible TV cash if you're lucky.
If half the Prem/Champ clubs opted out, they'd also be a better chance for little clubs to progress.
We should either 's**t or get off the pot'. You prob can't opt-out at the moment, but I think we should be allowed to.
