Just back from Brom

Relieved to be leaving with a point. Credit to West Brom they knew exactly how to play us - straight on us and not allowing any time on the ball. We really were quite poor in the first half and grateful to only be one down.

Lots of errors and misplaced passes. We looked quite light up front and missed Stieperman, I thought.

Krul had a bit of a nightmare with his distribution, with both feet and one heart stopping moment with hand! Interestingly a number of Brom passes went out on the same side as most of Kruls and wondered if there was a strong cross wind they couldn't get to grips with?

Their goal was well taken, maybe our defender, Godfrey possibly wasn't quite switched on, but credit to Gayle, he was quick and tucks them away with ease.

Much improved in 2nd half - still not great but they never gave up and was brilliant to get the equaliser and what looked like a couple of great saves by Krul. Was really pleased for him as unfortunately he got a lot of stick in the first half.

Rhodes goal seemed similar to Gayle's - a real poachers goal and you could see how much he loved it, scoring in front of us.

Onwards and upwards - whilst we didn't get the win, it was crucial we were able to stop them from doing so.

Oh and the Vine...a victim of its own success? Got there at 12.20 and already rammed - so busy. A WBA fan told me he's never seen so many in there!
