Yes, the pain remains strong

There were so many “what are you doing?!?” moments where a better decision would have led to avoiding a very soft goal.

The first two were horrible half arsed attempts to clear the ball from set pieces. Derby did take the chances that resulted very well i thought, clinical finishes, but they were pivotal in gifting a team that was being totally outplayed a way back.

Post floodlights, I think it’s just tired bodies leading to terrible decisions. After our third the adrenaline would have been flowing and the team could have run through walls for the 10 mins needed to see out the game. Instead they had just enough time for that to fade and to get cold. They looked like hobbling old men trying to defend the third, Klose selling himself cheap and Tettey and Trybull failing to get back. And Zimm was just dreadful for the third. An awful awful attempt at the tackle. He looked out on his feet.

I do wonder whether Farke should have seen that coming and gone 5 at the back. Marshall for Cantrell to go wingbacks, Godfrey to go CB, Hanley for Zimm? Basically just shut up shop and force them to go long. Easy with hindsight intut?

But the regret at a game that should have been won is strong, especially given the divine intervention of floodlight failure.
