...it is still a massive f**k up by UEFA. They should be ashamed.

As I see it, the rules SHOULD state that a nation's qualifying teams for the following season are potentially made up of the team that wins the European Cup, should that happen, plus the best placed teams in their domestic competition.

Then everyone knows where they stand and in England, for example, only a place in the top three would absolutely guarantee qualification.

Everton would be disappointed but would have no right to complain. Them's the rules.

I think it is farcical that Liverpool may be denied the right to defend the trophy - they deserve to be there on every criteria apart from the current rules.

But given the current situation, it is only fair that Everton qualify - much as it annoys me.
