apathy is something completely different, isn't it?

from dictionary.com:
"Lack of interest or concern, especially regarding matters of general importance or appeal; indifference."

ie has nothing to do with thinking you can make a difference or not. It's not caring in the first place.

People seem to get confused about this quite a lot....
