One of the reasons that the labour party is having such an issue with this is that many within the party (including Corbyn himself) have more sympathy for the Palestinian cause and are generally not favourably disposed towards the state of Israel. The tweaks they made to the definition of Antisemitism were obviously with this half in mind.

This puts him in a very difficult position with the way that the accusation is antisemitism is now being thrown about, sometimes justifiably and on other occasions possibly not.

I personally couldn't give two hoots about Israel but i can see how someone like him who has been a long term campaigner for Palestinian causes finds himself ina bit of a minefield.
