He hasn't looked great so far but as far as giving him a chance...well the biggest concern
is how he doesn't look comfortable with the ball at his feet so far (have watched two of the games and seen highlights of the others) is his ability to play the ball with his feet. And I don't think he is going to improve that at a League One or Two club. Bring in Krul, let them compete. Would expect Krul to win out as he can of course play with his feet (you wouldn't expect anything else from a Dutch international goalkeeper). In the meantime let Matthews work on his feet in training over and over again until he is good enough to really compete for the #1 spot.
I think Krul would be an awesome free transfer signing if he doesn't want massive wages.
Also am a bit happier with his height at 6'4" where Matthews is only just above 6'.
