I felt that

Stones was trying not to hit Falcao but his foot was trapped under him. Maguire was saying it was not a penalty and the lad that Young has tackled jump in with two feet. The headbutt was a red card or nothing - a yellow was not an option. The thing that got to me was them scuffing up the penalty spot - either not seen or not dealt with. Should have been a yellow for Ungentlemanly Conduct.

But FIFA need to introduce some retrospective procedures to put an end to this gamesmanship, it is a utter disgrace and I would like to see the following measures:-

1. Once a decision is given, the ball is dead. Anyone in the team in which the decision has been given against who holds onto the ball or kicks it away is cautioned.

2. If a foul is given, the defending sides players will be booked if the ball hits them whilst making no attempt to retreat 10 yards and the kick will be retaken. This should happen even if the side taking the kick opts to kick it at them.

3. The game should only be stopped for treatment for head injuries or obvious serious injuries. Other treatment should be carried out whilst the game continues (as in rugby).

4. The game should continue during substitutions, and the sub can only come on after the player coming off has left the field at the half way line.

Shouldn't have to implement any of these measures, but this world cup has taken gamesmanship to a whole new level.
