Kind of understandable

My favourite is probably '74, which probably wasn't that great but it was the first one and all seemed so amazingly exotic.
Especially given that apart from World Cups you could probably count the number of live football games on TV in those days on your fingers (FA Cup final, European Cup final, the end-of-season Home Internationals and ...)
