What group is your aerial ?

If it's Group A, and hasn't been replaced for a few years, you might not get Ch 39 well at all. Group A goes up to Ch37, but that's the edge and may well give poor gain.
If you can see the aerial tomorrow, a Gp A one has a red bung in the end. A wideband aerial works from Chs 21-59, has a black bung, and will do the job.
A typical aerial fit costs £150...
