I don’t know the full story behind the winter break idea
But I would have thought part of it also relates to the fan experience. Surely it’s also more pleasant for fans not to have to watch games in freezing conditions? Also, the extra games pretty much solely come down to cup competitions, right? In which case, what’s the point of the league cup? No one gives a s**t about it.
