I think he's probably a solid choice for them
But they have a fairly limited set of players there so the question is whether a solid choice is enough or was McCarthy actually getting more from those players than most would? time will tell I guess.
From the two or three times i've seen Shrewsbury play this season they've been quite physical and direct so not that different to how McCarthy's Ipswich teams played.
The good news is that one of his most important players in that set up and who enabled them to play like that belongs to us so he definitely won;t have him next season. Hopefully Shrewsbury are sufficiently annoyed with how the sc*m have tapped him up that they will not sell him any of their better players on the cheap.
