All three clubs have a number of other players whose terms are up, naturally easing their wage bill
WBA & Stoke were the two worst sides in the PL U23 system, so they may not have in-house talent ready to step up
Swansea's owners never intended to invest, merely to leverage off-field activities to increase income (they wanted Swansea to be "self-sustaining").

Add to this all the other unknowns that will crop up.
