PM: loz, re: Hokas
Very nice, but very odd. I've run thousands of miles over the last few years in various pairs of Brooks Adenaline, which haven't changed massively from one edition to another, so it was unusual to be running in something that felt so different (I have done some miles in my new race shoes, a pair of almost-flat Brooks PureCadence, but even those don't feel masively different to the Adrenalines)
But the chunky great big soles on these, and the different ways they give support to the foot through the action of the stride is odd, but nice. They're quite bouncy actually, which felt odd too.
But they felt comfy, secure, gripped the heel well, I didn't slide about in them. Felt confident.
I am happy with my purchase.
