Good win that

Against a Villa side who ain’t as good as Fulham and have a strangely languid style.

For much of the first half it was same old story, good possession, neat passing and then zero penetration. Crying out for some pace and power through the middle to run in behind when Madders and Vrancic have the ball.

Then Josh sticks that goal in and from then on it’s a different story. He himself is transformed to the confident Murphy who makes the right decisions and at times looks unplayable and the whole team looks different. We’ve shown throughout the season that when we get the first goal we know how to manage games. It’s really crucial for this team and next season we need the firepower to make sure we do it more often.

Another good game for Reed. Vrancic very good as well. Tettey showed again why we should find a bit extra to keep him another year. Good for Srbenny to get his goal. I remain unconvinced he’s exactly what we need up there in terms of his all round game but some decent touches and good to see him off the mark and should help his confidence.
